Good stuff for a two-dollar bottle of wine -- been drinking it since a NY Times article on it three or four months ago. Give it a try next time you head up to the Boston area -- it's not available in NY area Trader Joe's. You could tell the Times readers in Trader Joe's for a few weeks after that: they were the ones with nothing in their shopping cart but two cases of two buck chuck!

Can this stuff be bought online anywhere? I'm not much of a wine drinker, but I am a cheapskate, so this quite neatly fits into that category.

Ha! Have you looked into the laws for buying any sort of alcohol online -- especially in this part of the country? Don't count on it. It will be much easier to take a trip to a Trader Joe's in a neighboring state that does carry it. (Or find a friend who's passing through on their way to you.)

Fair warning though - I'm told that in the Boston-area, it actually costs *three* whole bucks. My local TJ's is a downtown miniature version that doesn't carry wine, so I haven't had a chance to try it.

Yes, Clive, every state wants their cut in taxes. :) But here's a good map that shows you what you can and can't do: Wine Institute Map of Laws (of course, it's mostly _can't_).
And yes, debcha, it's 3 bucks here in MA. They say that extra dollar is for shipping it all the way from California. Still -- can't complain.
