I'll be back posting tomorrow after my week off, because I just got back from -- my wedding! Sunday I was married to the lovely Emily, whom I occasionally namecheck in these entries and who is wonderful beyond words.
We now return you to your regular programming.
Frabjous day, calloo callay! Congratulations!

The million doller question is whether your kids will be yanks or canucks...

What? No advance warning? Just, "things should be back to normal after this weekend?" Were you afraid we'd crash your wedding?" Or maybe no one knew...
Congrats to both of you!
Posted by: marc at August 24, 2004 11:56 AM
Ahahhahah! Thank you all. Heh ... that would have been pretty excellent if there'd been crashers from here. "Mom, I'd like you to meet these folks over here from -- my blog."
Actually, Collision Detection was namechecked in the speech by Emily's best man, which kind of rocked.

Robot, don't forget the Rabbi also mentioned she thought the wedding would be written about in magazines and blogs.
It must be nice to break the story of your own wedding on your own blog.
Posted by: Fray at August 24, 2004 2:12 PM
Well done. It's always so nice to hear fellow geek success-in-mating stories.

I was so tempted to post something snarky when you posted about being to busy with work to blog. Soooo tempted.
I had the most fun on Sunday, and the wickedest hangover on Monday! Mazel tov again and again.

Like that!?
Just week end marriage?
The girl deserves a wonderfull honeymoon to Italy and I, being the SOLE Italian that posts here, deserve the honour to show you to a couple of restaurants in Rome!
Congratulations! ;D

Good stuff, consider yourself a lucky person.
Posted by: Joe at August 25, 2004 6:30 PM
I am indeed lucky -- and in fact, Mario, we do plan to take a honeymoon later in the year, when we get vacation time from work, and we are definitely considering Italy as a destination!
Posted by: Clive at August 26, 2004 12:11 PM
Congrats! Take it easy on yourself for a while--we'll be okay without CD for a little while. (But not too long!)

Posted by: chris allbritton at August 29, 2004 4:32 PM
Oh, shit. My most heartiest congratulations! I wish I could have been there.
Posted by: chris allbritton at August 29, 2004 4:33 PM
It's okay, Chris! We toasted in your honor. Or roasted in your honor. Or something like that.
(Just call me Mrs. CollisionDetection.net. from now on.)

That rules, Clive!
Forget Italy, though. You should honeymoon in the Forgotten Realms with some wicked two-player cooperative action in Baldur's Gate for the PS2.
It'd be cheaper, and can you get a Mace of Unholy Disruption +5 in Tuscany? I thought not!!
Posted by: Robin at August 31, 2004 2:15 PM
NICE!
I didn't read much in the last weeks, I have been on holiday but I'm glad you are considering Italy for the honeymoon!
Actualy Robin's suggestion is quite cool, but I have to say Maces of Unholy Disruption +5 are quite common in Italy. In Tuscany you can also get a GUCCI one...
:-D

Ahahahah! Excellent ideas. Actually, I've just spent two days playing City of Heroes, which is more twitch-game-like than immersive-world-like, so maybe Emily and I could just suit up and wander around Paragon City kicking ass as a superhero duo.
