First-person-shooter version of pong

Thirty-four years after it was first released, Pong is still amenable to innovation. Check out this mod: A 3D version of the game, where you try to put some english on the ball on all three axes.
Is this the first time this has been tried, or has it been done before? Probably done before, I'm guessing, but I'd never seen it!
(Thanks to Joey for this one!)

I remember having a BASIC game on my VIC-20 called "3-D Man" - it was a first person version of Pac-Man.

I remember that too! It was a really odd feeling ... kind of inhabiting the perceptual conceits of Flatland.

Wow...I saw this several years ago and I'm happy to see it's still around. It looks like they've made some improvements - curve balls and accuracy bonuses.

...and if you know the right people you can get in on a highly post-modern real-life simulation of this game.
